Writer's Block: Conversion Rate

Have you ever considered converting to another religion?

I was seven when I figured out I was pagan. I was incarcerated in a Catholic school and had more philosophical differences with it each day till at eight I refused Confirmation. I couldn't stomach anything that was saying "our god's real and all but every other god any human being ever worshiped is either nonexistent or a devil." I was smart, crippled and prematurely adult in my outlook because life was so hard.

I also joined Unitarian Universalists in my late thirties but that doesn't really count as a change of religion. More an expansion on it as I discovered the local C.U.U.P.S. group and realized there were no contradictions between this liberal church and my religious views. U.U. has no dogma. None. But it throws a fine Sunday potluck or Thanksgiving get together and what U.U. does for the holidays is absolutely grand -- every midwinter they can think of gets celebrated on successive Sundays.
