Florida Shells and Marble
5" x 7"
Sennelier oil pastels on Blick canvas board.

I set up more of a still life this time using four of the shells Twila brought me from Florida with one clear greenish marble in the oyster shell. The background color is loosely related to the cherry veneer of my drawing table, I just didn't detail it with the wood grain because that'd be superfluous. I shaded it with the shadow of a water bucket behind the still life and gave it that dark corner that I like a lot.

This took about five hours today and a lot of work getting it right. I didn't realize how well it came out till I scanned it and saw the thumbnail, that blew me away. I love the Senneliers on canvas board, got to do this again sometime because it came out so much better than the pomegranate did.
