A Red Lily

A Red Lily
Daniel Smith watercolor sticks on 90lb cold press watercolor paper.
Colors used: Quinacridone Coral, Quinacridone Violet, Quinacridone Gold, Hansa Yellow Medium, Aureolin, Sap Green, Ultramarine. It does have strong primaries with the addition of a green because I really like it better with a true green rather than a mixed green. I dampened the paper and drew on wet paper, then used a wet brush to move pigment and added details by dipping sticks in water, so this is a combination of several techniques. Photo ref. by eyepaint.

Thanks! I'm still slogging along with it. Hope it ends before November though, when I start my new novel.
