Gardenia in Oil Pastels

Gardenia
8" x 10"
Caran d'Ache Neopastel oil pastels
Canvas board primed with Soft Umber Colourfix sanded pastel primer.
Photo reference by MonicaB on WetCanvas.com, one of three that I chose from the Reference Image Library for the January Oil Pastels Challenge that I'm hosting. Have to participate if I'm hosting, right?

I thought the white flower was a bit challenging in itself and that the reference was neat in its angle. Also I have fond memories of gardenia bushes just growing in people's yards in New Orleans instead of being some flower you only saw at florists.
