Are there any political issues or civil liberties you actively promote or defend (through volunteer/grassroots efforts)? What are they? Do most of your friends feel similarly?
Yes. In my youth I was extremely radical. Now I'm just liberal. Unfortunately my promoting or defending liberal issues is pretty much limited to comments on forums and blogs, usually supportive ones to folks I agree with. Debate is right out of it because fibromyalgia flares render me unintelligible and foggy-stupid if I get stressed. Physical marching and organizing was always out of it, you have to be able to walk down the block to do that. There are a lot of things I would do if I weren't disabled and a healthy amount of activism on environment, civil rights, LGBT rights, disabled people's rights and other social issues are on that list. I hate being disabled sometimes. Oddly my friends include nearly the full social and political spectrum, stopping at "evangelists who try to bully me into their religion/habits." This includes vegetarians as well as religious.
