Plans for April: Script Frenzy

For over a decade I've had a good concept for a graphic novel. This year I'm going to script it and probably do thumbnails for the art while I'm at it. So rather than rest on last November's laurels, I've got the Script Frenzy banner up now and will keep it there till I've got a Script Frenzy winner's icon to replace it with.

Wish me luck on this, for all the novels I've done, I have never written a script of any kind.

Meanwhile, I'm continuing Derwent Fortnight on Rob's Art Supply Reviews and posted #8 today: Derwent Graphitints. Only six more to go with that project, I'm past the middle and have kept it up daily even when the weather turned. It did turn nastier, my joints were bad yesterday and bad today. Wish it'd get warm and nice again fast!

Interesting! I might try it for working out the lessons I'm doing for art videos too, though I've been doing okay with just spontaneously doing a demo and describing what I'm doing with it. That's very cool. I'm downloading it as I type and I'll give it a try. Thank you!

Hey, you could join ScriptFrenzy too and buddy with me if you have the time. Work on one of your projects, like Brainsick... it's got to be about comparable to doing Nanowrimo.

Yes, that's exactly it. This year I'm dusting off that concept and having a go at writing it, hopefully also with thumbnails. That'll get me to where I might pencil the art and after that, who knows?

I bought a Bienfang Notesketch some years ago and I'm thinking of getting that out and using it, because if I write the script longhand it'll slow me down and make me more concise. Plus there's a space for a thumbnail or sketch right next to any words, so I could have the words and thumbnails in one place. Could be very handy to use that.

I'd be tempted to buy a Moleskine storyboard one, but I am still paying off my computer and won't have an art supply budget till May. So that'll have to wait.

I love to hear about any long-left-undone project finally getting finished with NaNoWriMo or Script Frenzy.

I, for one, am doing a stage play version of an old novella so we are in similar boats.

Best of luck with it!
