Writer's Block: On the menu

What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? Was it any good?

As a little kid, I had tinned whale meat from Japan. It was in barbecue sauce. It tasted delicious. At that age I wasn't aware that whales were being hunted to extinction and it seemed amazing that I could have a tin of meat from an animal so enormous. I associated it with Inuit people that I'd been reading about.

Next weirdest was bear meat, which I also enjoyed immensely. I won't ever eat whale meat again though. I want the whales to survive and they need protection. Bears aren't endangered so if I ever go back to that odd restaurant near Yellowstone, I'll enjoy bear, moose, elk, bison, antelope. The restaurant was managed by the park service if I recall correctly.
