First, a Leafy Sea Dragon for nicosian as suggested in the comments to my last post. I really had fun with this and discovered Wikipedia Commons images. Wonderful leafy sea dragon attached to the entry and listed as "images you can use." Since I doubted an aquarium creature needed to sign a model release, I just drew it, but changed the background and pose and everything anyway. The comparison between the two images was surprising to me. They vary a lot in color and pattern!

Then I touched down on the June Doodle thread in ACEO Art Cards Editions & Originals group where ebayer Seafog had mentioned she wanted a rainbow, and nicosian's suggestion of "or cephalopody things" just tweaked my artistic side... and the whimsical side. It's from the Cretaceous. It could have been that color...

ACEO TW Undersea Psychedelic Rainbow Cephalopod has a title so long it doesn't fit on eBay's listing title box and tentacles so long they don't fit in the picture. I had fun drawing it and doodling in a full spectrum of colored pens.

I have no idea what I'll do next but I'm still procrastinating on starting my novel. It doesn't matter as long as I bang in a thousand words of it before midnight, there's what I decided about it. Also while drawing these things I've been ruminating and seeing ways to make the novel work. I might let Terry speak for himself in first person or not... I have sleeping kittenlets upstairs now. They're actually playing in their rooms but it's technically naptime so they aren't down here pestering me every three minutes. They don't have to be quiet and pretend to sleep, but they do have to stay in their rooms at naptime.

June Doodles is going to be a trip -- and leave me plenty of time for writing. Except when I get distracted by my Blick package arriving. I checked my budget and sorted it out and checked the coupon and phoned Blick to verify it and so wound up getting $20 more stuff in there, so I will have some very cool things to play with besides my super duper set of new Prismacolors. Silver metallic paint, a big sheet of 300lb Arches Hot Press watercolor paper to cut down into 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" ACEO blanks or other small sizes, a half size Bienfang Notesketch for taking notes on my upcoming August dino-novel... this is going to be great. Good thing I'm getting into doodling and sketching.

Maybe I need to do a plesiosaur next...
