New ACEO and the ACEO Decks Are Here!

ACEO Abandoned is my September Challenge artwork for the challenge in the Colored Pencil forum of WetCanvas. I used the challenge reference provided by climberman. If you draw or paint, WetCanvas has TONS of wonderful references provided free for use by member artists, and it's free to join.

Then yesterday I got my box of ACEO Playing Cards from the great ACEO Playing Cards collaborative project. I did the Seven of Clubs for the deck and bought ten decks so that I'd have plenty to resell. The first one already sold. I'm offering the deck with an ACEO limited edition print of "Seven," my art for the Seven of Clubs.

The prints on the cards have a generous border around them and are smaller than ACEOs, with pips to show what card it is if it's not obvious from the subject (four birds or seven marbles doesn't necessarily say what suit it is.) They're standard coated playing cards, sturdy with beautifully fine reproduction on them.

ACEO Playing Card Deck with LE Print of "Seven" has a Buy-It-Now price of $19.95, which is a bargain for 54 quality art reproductions of different unique artworks and one of my good prints -- the print is practically thrown in for free. The rest of the art in the deck is unbelievable. Some of the artists in it are better than I am and the variety of mediums, subjects, styles is amazing. I love it. Some of the best ones weren't even posted on the spoiler thread in the ACEO group. The original of my particular exercise in Prismacolor Insanity lives in my album and is so not for sale.

Karl is patiently explaining to Sascha that when Gemini is under the couch, she needs to leave the cat alone. Sascha isn't too sure of this. Gemini is a total sweetie with her though, she may retreat sometimes but just as often she goes up to Sascha for petting.

My wetcanvas membername is robertsloan2. That's my username everywhere but eBay, where it was taken (by me, in a lost-password lost-email old account) so I created robertsloan2art there. Everything else is always robertsloan2 unless it requires me to use my real name. Thank you! WetCanvas is lots of fun!

Last week Kitten came back from Walmart and got stopped at the door by a tiny tortie meowing piteously to be picked up and carried in. She looked exactly like a cat named Gemini that Kitten used to have in New Orleans. So she picked her up -- and Gemmi purred like a loud motorboat. She loves everybody. She has moved in. We made some efforts to find her people but it seems like they must have just moved away and turned her out into the street -- where she just tried houses till she found a good one.

We now have two dogs, one adolescent (one year old) and one a puppy five or six months old, both large, and two cats -- my 12lb Ari (he lost a pound on the good food cause he runs it off!) and 8lb Gemini. We thought she was a four month old kitten but the vet says she's a year old and she's already been spayed! She is just tiny! Very small feet. Short hair. Very dainty. Midline separating two completely different tortie patterns and big green eyes. Beautiful cat. She was scared of the dogs and Ari at first, but Ari is slowly charming her and now they play tag sometimes and she sometimes forgets to hiss at him. He's been gracious about his food and water.

Another week and I'll see him washing her. I hope they do get close. He really missed having a cat friend.

Today she didn't hiss at him at all! And they play. One of these nights I'll see him curling up around her and washing her and then I'll wind up one morning waking up with 20lb of cats on my chest purring.
