Neat little artwork

I usually do an original bookmark when I sell an ACEO. Today I'm mailing out Sunset II to its buyer. I looked at it and thought... why not do something in watercolor with a similar palette? I had some watercolor paper bookmark slips around and started off with a Hansa Yellow wash, then started playing with various dilutions of Perylene Red once it dried and finished it with the pine island in Sodalite Genuine. I lightened the mass of vegetation in the silhouette with a little of the Perylene Red to give some reflected light into the vegetation, a subtle effect that worked. So I'm happy with this and scanned it. I may even print it out again and use printed bookmarks sometimes, start collecting the best ones and do prints of them. Or offer a prints collection of bookmarks on eBay when I've got a lot of good ones together -- including those cool knotwork ones I did a couple of years ago too.

Just wanted to share this. Today I begin working on my website, and that is a good feeling. But I may take a break later on and do an ACEO too. It'll still be a while before I get the newsletter going because my next task is learning the software and doing the research with it that will let me decide things like what to call it.

Beautiful bookmark, Robert. Yes, indeed, that red did work well on the shadows on the trees, lightened the shadows up and made them look very natural.

Thank you! Once in a while the bookmarks will turn out to be as good as the ACEOs, and I just feel a need to post them.
