Writer's Block: Novel Ideas

NaNoWriMo starts today. Give us a one-sentence description of the novel you plan to write.

I have absolutely no idea, my plans went up in smoke and I am blocked.

Bad bad bad pain day.

*big hugs*

I hope the pain recedes soon.

Thanks. I hope something resembling a concept crawls up soon. My cat is shedding on me so that may help...

If you need more cat hair, I have six cats' worth....

Oh wow! Shovel those cat hairs of inspiration on! I fed Ari and he came up and purred and shedded on me a lot... and then I got going and am now up to 4743 in a fantasy that I started off with an abused kid. The kid got out and ran away, and it seems like some gnomelike little man is either actually helping him or feeding him a heck of a line and I'm not sure which -- or whether both are true. I am pretty sure the price of magic is going to bite him pretty soon, not sure if it'll be soon from the character's point of view or not.

I'll just have to see what's next after this scene. Kid is mage talented according to the gnome.

Concepts? Aliens infiltrating the FBI. Killer penguins with Uzis take over the world. Lolcats become high art (I know someone who's doing that, actually). Art that becomes reality. Reality that turns into paintings or sculptures when nobody needs it to be real, or when nobody's paying attention. The goldfish are watching us and taking notes. The princess doesn't want to be saved from the dragon, she wants to become a dragon herself. The world ends and God and Satan spend fifty thousand words discussing whose fault it was. It turns out Dracula was just trying to invent the notion of a blood bank. Teenage mutant ninja squirrels who orchestrate bank raids. A roleplayer whose life starts to literally be determined by dice rolls. Buildings start to talk and protest about how they're being treated. A bar wench decides to become a knight. A knight decides to become a bar wench. The end of the world happened twenty minutes ago and nobody's noticed yet.

Or, alternatively, all of the above.

*careful hugs* Take care of yourself and don't get too worked up over NaNo, because you will only make yourself feel worse. The writing will come to you.

Purrr thanks.

It did and is none of the above, though I have done the one with the princess who doesn't want to be saved but wants to become a dragon herself.

All of the above would be screamingly funny but not my flavor to write it, too many things I'm not personally into there.

Purrr thanks. I did get to a point where I could start and knew it'd roll if I just let it happen with whatever came to mind and don't ask where it's going. Just let it go there on its own. I think the little man is a type of con man, but he might be a good hearted trickster and actually on the boy's side. Just not terribly honestly so. And definitely has his own agenda, I just don't know what that is.

He is for sure up to something and that kid is way too vulnerable to anyone who's friendly.

I also joined, and am having a block as well. Hopefully something will come soon. We are nearing mid-month faster and faster and I am still blocked.

Yeah, no kidding. Today was a wash. I think I'm just too sick to do anything but surf online, I'm not getting started on writing or doing anything else I planned to do.

I want another good day, but I think I have to rest up today to have a shot at one. I don't know why I'm sleepy at 8pm.
