I was tagged by Sharilynn to post Six Quirky Boring Things About Myself and then tag six other people. So...

1. I'm writing a profound, brilliant novel that's both intensely timely and wonderfully timeless, heartwarming yet tragic, one destined to be a classic. Can I add any more superlatives as I bore you about my book?

2. I have a book in print, Raven Dance, so naturally I'll flog it. It's a big fat doorstop of a Sci-Fi epic with high adventure, political satire and all sorts of fun things.

3. I had an Operation and got all macho when the anesthesia didn't work while the surgeon was cutting out a tumor the size of a spare kidney. "Can I get something to grip so I can keep from jerking around when it hurts?" "No, you're getting general anesthesia because you're not supposed to feel anything." "Oh. Okay." (Dangit, I wanted to watch what was going on.)

4. I love my hairy Ari Cat and constantly post about him, post his picture, give him tons of attention and let him walk all over me. He has big feet with fluffy white tufts between his toes and is a Seal Point Colorpoint Longhair (IE shaggy Street Siamese). But you know that. Ari sheds Cat Hairs of Inspiration on you.

5. I write big and draw small, very often doing art the size of trading cards. I collect art the size of trading cards too. And way too many other people's science fiction and fantasy novels including the irresistible Terry Pratchett's.

6. I don't watch television. Quirky and rare in the extreme, it would be extremely boring to anyone who does, wouldn't it? I have no idea what happened in anyone's favorite show, which makes a massively common topic of conversation boring to me -- and me very dull to anyone who enjoys that topic. I start running for the woods if I even hear the words "situation comedy." I don't know what the latest commercials are.

I can understand why people talk about them though, the dang things interrupt anything that gets aired at five minute intervals and twice the volume. Usually with shock tactics of one kind or another and a relentless insane hard sales pitch that reminds me of a four year old screaming for attention. Without the appeal or the affection involved, either.

Now I get to tag six people.

nicosian, elialshadowpine, athenagrey, lilcrabbygal, equani_tsula and stormerider -- happy birthday, Stormy!

These friends were chosen nearly at random, please don't feel slighted if I didn't tag you (or if I did!)

I don't get it why the links on names didn't work. I got the coding the same as the ones that do, beats me.

It's not your LJ user tags, it's your link to Raven Dance. It's missing a closing quotation mark; it should be <a href="http://www.iuniverse.com/Bookstore/BookSearchResults.aspx?Search=Raven%20Dance">.

*crosses fingers that she is right*

Thank you! I fixed it and all the names came up as proper links except nicosian because the shift key didn't work while I was doing the quote mark. Fixed that too.

You were right! Thank you so much. I was in pain and way out in the fog so far I wasn't sure if that hooting sea monster was the lighthouse horn last night. LONG day doing a lot.

Ouch. I hope you're feeling better than that now. I've just crawled out of bed (it's 10.15 on Saturday morning here) and realised I'm too sick to leave the house. The problem with this is that I was supposed to be going to a wedding.

Thanks. Not enough better to have done today's art yet, but working on that. I did accomplish something though. I worked through an important setup day on my website, something I wanted to spend at least one day on during this month so that I wasn't paying for a month that had no efforts toward making the site work.

Turned out to be a well spent day and I'm still hoping to be able to get in the sketch tonight. If I do something on it every day it will get done. If I did that with everything though, I'd be sick in a week.
