Underpainting and mailed a package...

I got the postage printed out today to mail Bird of Paradise and bought some more stamps because I was out of them. That was all I really managed to get done besides prime a piece of watercolor paper with clear Colourfix primer mixed with some gold metallic acrylic paint. It took more coats than it did using the Colourfix primer by itself.

Now that needs to dry thoroughly overnight, it'll be flat tomorrow and I'll figure out what I want to paint in pastel or oil pastel on a metallic gold background. I might try it again with separate layers of acrylic underpainting then let that dry then put clear Colourfix primer over it too. Either way it'll be interesting. I think the art will have to be in strong rich colors to give a sense of opulence to the whole thing. Whatever subject I choose will wind up with much of the background showing through.
