Clear Quartz is 3" x 4" in Pentel oil pastels on ProArt sketchbook paper. The first page of my brand-new virgin little 4" x 6" wirebound sketchbook, it's also the tenth of my stone studies for 100 Stones Project on WetCanvas.com. I may actually fill this new sketchbook entirely with oil pastel studies and sketches, though I wouldn't bet on it since I do like doing pen sketching and pencil too. It's my illustration for my review on Pentel oil pastels.

I'm about to write that review so I won't go into detail yet. If these are lightfast on top of everything else about them, they may become The Best Bargain Brand, period. I would be very surprised if they don't. The set only cost me $5.69 at Blick. Definitely a sketchbook favorite however the others do.

Yesterday I reviewed Maimeri Classico and CrayPas Specialist oil pastels. That fills up the Artist Grade Oil Pastels section under Reviews. Today I'll start with Pentel and then see what else I can write. That monster package of oil pastels has stimulated me, the pain's not too bad today, the sun is shining and the days getting longer.
