Gray Painting, stage Two, where I pushed it much closer to the right colors for the reference. I forgot I hadn't posted that so I'm editing it in.

About two thirds through with Stage Three. I need to break up the masses on the waves and the rocks now. It's getting towards five and I think this might be it for today, but I made a lot of progress on my contest entry and I think it may come out well.

It looks very colorful for a gray painting, but maybe I can mute it some more in the final stages.

Purrr thanks! And thanks again for the reference! I posted the teeny weeny to its progress thread on WetCanvas too so that my friends there could see what I'm working from. The one I have open on my desktop is the big one though.

I changed it all around, and the farther I go the more changes I make. The clouds keep moving like they were real, they will not stay put where they were. lol

It's due on the fifteenth. I'd like to upload it and get it sent in well before then, so that I can stop being all antsy and stressed out because a deadline is creeping close. I decided I didn't need the flares so I made myself get over the jitters today and start it. Got a good halfway through, which is good for doing something as big as 9" x 12" -- and it's also giving me ideas for Cat/Wombat too.

I may spend a few days doing soft pastels for a change, since I got so much done on the site recently.
