Daily Art Again -- Blue Crab

Cray-Pas Expressionist oil pastels on the other half of the Moonstone color big sheet of Canson Mi-Tientes. 8" x 10" on the smooth side. Adapted from an oil demonstration in How to Paint Wildlife Portraits in Oil Pastels, Oils and Acrylics by H. P. McLaughlin, Walter Foster book #173.

I am sure getting my money's worth out of this pair of Walter Foster books. I'm not sure why but something just snapped and I'm enjoying doing the demos. Maybe it's because it relieves stress about planning the painting -- even though when I start on one I keep making changes, it's right there to follow and I know it'll come out some sort of cool recognizable thing I want on my wall.

Tomorrow, Taboret! Plus a 36 color set of Walnut Hollow oil pencils, long delayed and no less appreciated for it. I might do a colored pencils thing on wood tomorrow just to see how those behave on wood. They're famous for going well on wood.
