Writer's Block: Timely Departures

If you could jump in a time machine and travel back to any point in history, where would you go?

I wouldn't, unless it was to go to a few recent things where I could get a lot of money by investing in stuff while knowing the future and then come back to get rich. Life for the disabled was harder in all previous times. Without the Internet I'd be housebound and lonely and everything would be a whole lot harder. Without my medications it'd be unlivable.

Technologies that are a convenience for other people are a necessity for me to have a life. I would not want to go back to handwritten letters or writing manuscripts on a typewriter without Cut, Copy and Paste. And let's not forget the atrocities of the past or the prejudices of the past.

During a great deal of it, killing other people for their religion was a holy duty and a virtuous necessity rather than illegal. To mention just one thing against it.

It's one thing to get excited about an exotic setting for a story. Living there would be something else, and with my body as it is, I am not cut out for that any more than I am for actually hiking up the Amazon or climbing the Alps.
