Writer's Block: Previously on My Journal

If a friend started reading your journal today, what would you need to fill them in on so they could understand what you're writing about?

Any friend close enough to be allowed to read my private journal already knows anything that they'd need to be filled in on. Except that big caveat -- it's very long and rambles off topic most of the time.

This is a good question because it's very common for people's journal entries to be taken out of context. I'm single, but if I were in a relationship then various sexual fantasies might have to be explained and labeled exactly that so that my partner wouldn't think they were records of infidelity, just to pick a common example.
