Yellow Rose, oil pastel on canva-paper, 8" x 11" with thinner washes throughout. I decided not to use dry effects to contrast anywhere.

I also finally did the review for Oil Pastels: Materials and Techniques for the Modern Artist by Kenneth Leslie for http://www.explore-oil-pastels-with-robert-sloan.com and this is the first new page I've posted since the 25th of March. I hate what spring does to my schedule. I've been sleeping so much and it's so frustrating.

I found some good how to draw and paint videos on http://www.how-to-draw-and-paint.com -- love the site name. Just about says it all. Self taught UK artist Bob Davies put together a site with a lot of pages and the quality of his articles is excellent. They're more geared to the beginner than the expert, but I'm also studying his videos for how he does them in order to improve my own.

I still need to figure out how to edit them and whether Windows Media can do it or I need to buy software. Help from anyone who's edited webcam videos would be appreciated.

I realized I hadn't posted this one earlier, just finished it early today when I first got up and before writing the article. I wanted to spend more time working on the book review so I did something quick and simple in oil pastels, another 4" square sketch of Ari. Then later on Karl came in to hang out and draw so we drew together and I finished the rose.
