Daily art from the 10th -- WIP

The Weekend Drawing Event starting May 8th, 2009 is hosted by "J" on WetCanvas.com in the All-Media Events forum. I chose her second photo reference of Keene Ranch, one that didn't have buildings or a fence in it, and got it started with the background of orangy soil, tumbled whitish rocks and some scrubby vegetation. I got one tree partly in -- it will have foliage and there is a lot more I need to add to that area glazed over what I painted in.

6" x 9" in Sakura Koi Watercolors on Canson Montval watercolor block, cold press.

I'll finish it tomorrow. I put in three or four sessions with it most of them only a few minutes long punctuated by letting it dry for hours.

Now I'm finally tired and ready to sleep, so I'll get back to it tomorrow (today) after I sleep -- and get back to painting five minutes, let it dry for an hour, repeat till it's done. I do plan to lift out some areas under the foliage.
