Art and Progress

Clear Marble and Quartz
Pentel oil pastel on paper, about 4" x 6" on a larger page. Painted on the evening of the 4th along with the next one, while Twila and I had an art jam and she did lots of oil pastel studies.

Blue Marble and Agate Slice
Sennelier oil pastel on paper, not filling an 8 1/2" x 11" page.

I did both of these while setting out still life objects for Twila to paint and letting her try different brands of oil pastels to see which ones she likes best. She loves the Senneliers, they suit her style very well and she also liked the firm ones best among the artist grade ones. She didn't like the Neopastels as much as the Specialists or Cretacolor Aqua Stics or Erengi. So she's found the textures she likes and I think I've gotten her intrigued with the new medium.

I'm also up to chapter 12 in editing Vaumuru's Curse. Right now I'm more than halfway through chapter 13. I've had a few problems prioritizing writing time over other things but I'm starting to get a handle on it. This isn't the fun part but if I can manage to spend 40 hours a week doing this part, I might be able to quit my day job as a cripple. That'd rock.
