Eraser Sauropod

Eraser Sauropod
About 3" long, Design kneaded eraser, temporary sculpture from memory and imagination.

Yesterday I worked on the sketch for Estemmenosuchus in the Permian swamp, but the sketch is too light to scan. However, I did work on it even if I didn't have anything to post. Once it's inked and/or painted whichever comes first, I'll post it.

Still got the stupid flu. It's cold and wet out.

I think I want to do this again in Sculpey and bake it, this one was sort of a three dimensional sketch. It's since been squished and kneaded back into being a usable eraser blob.

Thank you! Yep. I was just immersing in a lot of prehistoric videos, but didn't have a reference up in front of me. I think I actually did it during one that was on the Permian stuff. I definitely want to do a more refined version in Sculpey, hopefully manage to do it all in one piece so I don't have to worry about legs coming off in the oven.

Oh that's cool stuff. Neat! I can't wait to see what you do with sculpey.

I'm not planning on doing it large or using an armature, that's why I need to be so careful with it in the construction. I don't have armature wire so I'll just be molding the stuff and hope to get it good and solid.

can't wait
Can't wait to see the swampy fellow :D

I'm impressed with the eraser dinosaur. I've never had the least luck with 3 dimensions, sculpture of any kind has always eluded me.

Re: can't wait
Oh thank you! I'm getting better at the 3D modeling. For a long time the only thing I could do reasonably well was a cat. Now I know what I'll be doing with the sculpey.

Did some ink and watercolor today and will be inking Estemmenosuchus soon. Have been making changes again and again to the pencil sketch to get the background composition decent.
