Sketches in Neocolor II

A Pair of Pears
Cropped to 5" square, Neocolor II watersoluble wax crayons on black Strathmore paper. From imagination.

Pinecone and Red Rock
6" x 9", Neocolor II on black Strathmore 80lb paper from "Gray Scale" pad. Life drawing.

Just a couple of fast sketches fooling around with my new supplies while watching dinosaurs with Sascha. I needed a break, I've been pushing myself pretty hard on the book and I'm coming up on that self-set deadline now. I want to finish the novel -- and if I do reach The End anytime before midnight end of tomrrow, then I am on track for doing my three-novel year.

Nanowrimo kindly refunded my duplicate order, I'd emailed them asking if I'd made one and so they refunded the duplicate and sent only one T-shirt. So maybe I'll avoid spending wads of money and try to build up enough in savings that I have netbook replacement at need -- that'd be a good thing.

I got 10k today anyway so I'm not really pushing myself -- more thinking of ways to finish up in only 10k to 15k more. Ruminating. I might get in another chapter tonight.

you kick butt
I got up this morning with lots of novel in my head, but only got an hour or so of writing in. Dogs, men, cats, all determined to interrupt. OTH Third interrupted to do the Happy Dance when the contractor called - he is going to get one of those deals (being paid for the workers to park on part of our land). Whee. Dogs got me up at 5:30 am when the trucks started running so I've been grumpy and easily distracted. However, I think the bit I got done is good. I'll soon have that brief interlude when hubby is in bed and third is still at work - will get more done then.

Re: you kick butt
Yay and congratulations -- both on the happy news and on your getting in the good bit. Write on!

I wound up changing the plot and dropping something I thought was essential but had not foreshadowed. The hurricane is its own book in the series.

Wow i love the textury effect of that paper.

Also, three-novel year? Insane! =D

Yep. Insane. I've never done it yet. But this is the year I'm going to do it. Finishing the first a day early has got me daring to try. I'll at least get two good ones and match my best shooting that high.
