Sketchbook in a Month Update

I have been posting my pages on Facebook, but a lingering illness and some bad weather days caused gaps where I posted bunches at once. I've now got five days of month left and seven sketchbook pages to fill. Still on track to do this, which is mind boggling. Here's one of yesterday's pages.

It's a still life in graphite that I set up as a memorial echoing ancestor shrines, for all the artists of the past whom I've learned from. The stepped dais is two boxes of Pitt Artist Pens, the steel pillars are water bottles from a watercolor set, the crystal and polished stone are things they might have drawn and the plastic skull of course represents both past artists and their glorious anatomy studies. It's more symbolic than any still life I've done to date, that one was a stretch.

Next month I'm doing NaNoWriMo again the way I do every year.

Last year I did over 400,000 words and wrote five novels during the month, even if the last one needed a few chapters in December.

This year I'm going for quality. I'll do one novel and once the rough is finished, jump straight into editing it for submission instead of stashing it for a later that never comes. My super goal is to have it in submission shape for my birthday, December 10th - good way to celebrate, take a step into the future.

Purrr so glad you're anticipating it as much as I am. Glad you like my still life too, that's the first symbolic one I've ever done and I'm happy with it.
