Changed my userpic for NaNoWriMo 2010!

As mentioned in the last entry, my goal this year is to write Sabertooth, then begin editing it and try to have it ready for submission on December 10th, my birthday. This means I start in the day after I wrote The End on it, or that day if I finished early in the day. Whenever that day is.

It now has a working title: Sabertooth. Real imaginative, I know, but it also functions as a keyword! I hereby declare it Science Fiction because I've been doing research all month and have a tall stack of science books right next to me for continued research. I also visited NaNoWriMo site and updated my buddy list with all my fellow signups from Dreaming in Ink, my critique group. I hope to lure some cat lovers among them to join my beta reader list this November.

Big fanged cats. This is going to be so much fun. My cat has been curling up on my lap a lot lately with the cold weather or at least hanging out nearby on our heated waterbed to cheer me on. I think Ari may enjoy this book too, if only because it'll keep my lap in one place throughout this chilly month.

I'm way too excited about this. Need to get in the day's sketchbook pages yet, instead I got up and did email and Facebook and played Mafia Wars. One more two-page day and the sketchbook's down to page a day status, easier to maintain - or I'll get crazy and finish a few days early if I get going too much on it. Which wouldn't be bad for getting the deck cleared for Nanowrimo research!

I also finally found Big Cats and their Fossil Relatives after searching every one of my bookshelves. It was in the stack of books under my drafting table along with the art books because I was reading it. If it was a snake, it would've bit me. If it was a cat it would've gone to sleep on my foot.

Weather today, sunny and cold so far.

Does that mean there will be saber teeth of inspiration this year instead of cat hairs?

LOL!! Maybe so. Ari has been giving me a lot of love bites lately. He loves to just bite gently, never breaks the skin. Then he immediately washes the spot he bit, just so that I understand what he meant was a love bite or to play, not that he was mad at me. He's so sweet about it that I don't swat him or discourage him.

Then again, sabertooth cats shed too, so maybe they're both inspirational.
