Posted my new Derwent Inktense Blocks Review over on Blogspot at Rob's Art Supply Reviews. Check it out, even managed a little sketch with them this morning.

Derwent sent me a 24 color set and I love the texture on these. It's even softer and nicer than Prismacolor Art Stix for sketching dry, but washed of course it turns into insanely vivid permanent color like Inktense pencils. Absolutely cost effective, no waste since they're woodless sticks. Very cool stuff. Hasn't reached the USA yet but Pencils4Artists in the UK has them and will ship overseas.

I've been down with a bad cold/bronchitis for about two weeks of what's been some of the nicest weather all year. This is extremely annoying but today it's broken up enough I was able to sketch and write instead of sleeping 20 hours a day. I still might nap but I did something first, go me!

There, fixed it so you've got the right URL and everything. Didn't realize the day and month went into the URL too, very cool.

Purr thanks, John!

Fantastic news. I'm in San Francisco living on my own in a residence hotel. I should have done this years ago. You wouldn't believe how much stronger I am in this climate.

some chicken recipes
Hi all at robertsloan2.livejournal.com. What you thinking about chicken recipes? rnexample: rnApple brandy chicken, made with chicken breast halves, apple brandy, cream, onions, and butter, along with mushrooms. rn 4 chicken breast halves rn rn salt and pepper rn 8 ounces sliced mushrooms rn 2 teaspoons olive oil rn 2 teaspoons butter rn 1/3 cup apple brandy, such as Apple Jack or Calvados rn 4 green onions, chopped rn 1/2 cup whipping cream or heavy cream rn 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves or 1/4 teaspoon dried leaf thyme rn rnPreparation: rnFlatten chicken; place chicken breast halves between pieces of plastic wrap and gently pound until thinned out and uniform in size. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a large heavy skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add chicken breasts. Cook for about 5 minutes, until browned, then turn. Add mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes longer. Add green onions and apple brandy and cook for another minute, until chicken is cooked through and mushrooms are tender. Add cream and thyme; simmer until thickened. Taste and add salt and pepper if needed. rnHave you else any ideas? recipes for chicken

Re: some chicken recipes
I don't cook and don't like chicken, this is a bit confusing to me. Chicken is bottom of the list for me even if I was able to cook.

I'm answering this spam comment to point out that not everyone cooks or even can cook. If you read the rest of my LJ, you'd know that I have chronic disease and can't even prepare my own food. If I could, I sure wouldn't start with chicken, let alone anything that elaborate.

Try to stick to people who post about food and like the hobby. Would you want me to post on your chicken site babbling on about wonderful art supplies and how anyone can learn to paint?
